The Building Association is starting a new tradition during the weekend of the Spring BA Meeting. We’re organizing a Grad/Undergrad work party on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 12-4 PM. The idea is to get Grads with any knowledge in electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and any other useful skills to come and pass along that knowledge to current Undergraduate Brothers and Postulants and give back to the fraternity as well.
For this year, we’re planning on taking on three projects:
1. The lighting in the treasurer’s closet in Front House needs to be rewired. Also, there are no walls in the closet, so we’re going to insulate the exterior wall and put up sheetrock
2. The sinks in Front House back bathroom keep clogging. We’re going to clean the drains and replumb part of the drain.
3. The closet in one of the bedrooms in Synder House (East Clouds) currently has plywood acting as a wall between the siding of the house and the roof. We’re going to reframe the closet’s exterior walls, insulate, and put up sheetrock.
We’re also planning on setting up workshops to teach Undergrads and Postulants the proper way to fix holes in walls.
The Building Association invites any Graduate Brother who may be able to set some time away to give back to a place they once called home by improving on the current state of the Houses and passing on crucial knowledge to a new generation of Crows.
